Compare job offers or budget your income by converting pay between any period. Enter what you earn and how often, then adjust your hours, days and weeks worked to match your job. Figures are before tax.
Formula
Annual pay = Hourly rate × Hours per week × Weeks per year
Every other period is derived from the annual figure: monthly = annual ÷ 12, weekly = annual ÷ weeks worked, and so on.
Worked example
$25 an hour for 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year, is 25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000 a year, or about $4,333 a month.
Quick rule of thumb
For a full-time job, double the hourly rate and add three zeros for a rough annual salary: $25/hour ≈ $50,000/year.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert an hourly wage to a salary?
Multiply the hourly rate by hours per week and by weeks per year. Full time is often taken as 40 hours × 52 weeks = 2,080 hours.
Does this include taxes?
No. These are gross (pre-tax) figures. Take-home pay depends on your country, state and deductions.
